The Coventry and Warwickshire group have been declared as the joint winners of Branch or Group Achievement OSCARR category this year.John Bruce presented the Group with our OSCARRS on 12 November 2009.
Julie Rawlings gave an interview to Annie Othen on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire radio .She took the opportunity to promote the raft race and requested listeners to donate money in order to raise funds for the MND Association.
Gill Sherry arranged a slot for our group to have an interview with Bob Brolly on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire radio. Gill Sherry, Margaret McIntosh and Nerys Watton went along on 4 June 2009 and did an excellent job to promote raft race. They provided the listeners with details of the raft race, various activities and stalls that would be there on the day and also the details of how to make a donation.
BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Radio offered us the opportunity to take part in a broadcast to try
to recruit new Association Visitors. One of our very active members Mrs. Rowan D. Marshall-Rowan gave an excellent interview on the behalf of MND Association. She explained the nature of MND in brief and the activities of Motor Neurone Disease Association. She requested more people to join as association visitors to provide support for people affected with this devastating condition. She also took the opportunity to promote the Raft Race, organised by Wellesbourne & district and Shakespeare lions clubs, which is our next fundraising event.

The Coventry and Warwickshire MND Group need volunteers to provide friendship, advice and support for people with MND and their families, whether it be on the phone, via email or face-to-face. The support this provides is invaluable and means the world to many people living with the disease in Coventry and Warwickshire, who really need a friendly face.We are launched an appeal for volunteers on Touch FM radio.
